What placements can we offer?
We can provide a mixture of placements in a wide-range of clinical and non-clinical areas including human resources, dermatology (skin), oncology (cancer) or information technology (IT). We currently provide around 80 placements per year, although we are continually looking at ways to increase this.
Successful candidates may be placed as an administration assistant, data entry clerk, receptionist or medical secretary.
Who is eligible for our work experience programme?
We work with educational and employment organisations within the boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark, which provide us with applicants for our available placements.
Unfortunately, we can only accept candidates from the following sources at this time:
-
students attending a school or college within Lambeth or Southwark
-
students in further or higher education
-
people seeking employment.
Adult jobseekers need to register first with the South Bank Employers Group before being considered for a placement.
-
Work experience for members of the local community
In collaboration with the South Bank Employers Group (SBEG), we have run a successful non-clinical work experience scheme since 2008. The programme is solely for members of our local community and aims to:
-
provide a taste of working life to those in education or who have been out of work for some time
-
highlight the variety of non-clinical opportunities we can offer
-
make working at our hospitals more accessible to the local people we serve
-
demonstrate how we are an employer of choice for local, national and international communities.
