We have a large talent pool called ‘the staff bank’ which operates across many work areas made up of people who cover maternity leave and temporary vacancies.
Why join our staff bank?
There are many benefits to joining our staff bank. You will gain additional experience, keep your skills up to date, develop new ones and earn extra money.
You may want to:
- gradually return to work after a break
- try a different specialty or area
- work for us without committing to a permanent post
- work in an area where there aren't currently any vacancies.
You will also get opportunities to apply for vacancies as an internal candidate, training opportunities, NHS discounts, and you may be able to join the NHS pension scheme and our social club.
We use SMS messaging to send information about available shifts, changes in timesheet cut-off dates and other important information and you will soon be able to book bank shifts online.
It’s also really easy to join.

All staff bank role opportunities are advertised on our jobs section. If you are not currently employed in a substantive post at Guy's and St Thomas' and wish to join the staff bank you can also:

- click on the sector relevant for you.
Alternatively, if you have a known contact working within Guy's and St Thomas' please contact them directly to refer you to the staff bank. To qualify as a known contact, your contact must have been your line manager for a period of not less than three months with the Trust.
