World class training
Doctors whose postgraduate education takes place at Guy's and St Thomas' receive some of the best medical training in the country.
We are among the largest teaching hospitals, and by being a part of one of the UK's first academic health sciences centres, King's Health Partners|, we have access to world class medical research, practice and teaching.
We have over 500 doctors in training, including foundation doctors, core medical trainees, core surgical trainees and specialist trainees.

What we offer
Postgraduate medical education provides:
-
induction of all trainee doctors, including foundation, core medical, core surgical and specialist trainees
-
management of the two-year training programme for foundation doctors
-
education and leadership courses for consultants and trainees, management training courses for higher level specialist trainees and clinical exam courses
-

Clinical attachments and observerships
As we are a major teaching hospital, we often host visiting doctors on clinical attachments and observerships. These are honorary contracts and those visiting must be fully supervised.
Clinical attachments are for doctors who are either registered or who are eligible to be registered with the General Medical Council (GMC); clinical observerships are for doctors who are not registered with the GMC.
