Effective internal communications and staff engagement are central to how we deliver change. We believe frontline staff are best placed to understand the problems and identify the solutions.
National leader for staff engagement
Our reputation as a national leader for staff engagement has been driven by a number of initiatives including:
- a weekly 'Safe in our hands' briefing where clinical teams share good practice and learn from mistakes
- a monthly Team Briefing event for all staff which is held simultaneously across multiple sites
- our executive director 'out-and-about' programme.
We have also held a series of 'listening exercises' with our staff on topics as diverse as the Francis Review, the Trust's financial challenge and how we embed a culture of continuous improvement.
A new staff app, Twitter content and a monthly key messages film featuring our Chief Executive are also helping us to target hard-to-reach groups.
