We are very proud of staff who were recognised in the Queen’s birthday honours list.
“The health sector is incredibly important to the UK and our society, as shown by seven per cent of the honours list being health-related,” says Sir Ron Kerr, Chief Executive of Guy’s and St Thomas’. “I’m more proud than I can say of all of our staff who provide excellent service to our patients and community every day, and congratulate those distinguished by the Queen.”
Staff acknowledged in the list (from left to right):

- Ms Melinda Edwards, MBE, Consultant Clinical Paediatric Psychologist – for service to children with chronic and life-threatening medical conditions;
- Professor Andreas (Andy) Adam, CBE, Professor of Interventional Radiology – for service to interventional radiology; and
- Professor Tak Lee, CBE, honorary consultant physician and allergist at Guy's and St Thomas', and Director of the MRC-Asthma UK Centre for Allergic Mechanisms of Asthma at King's College London (recently retired) – for research in asthma and allergy.
The Trust also congratulates: Jonathon Hope, MBE, former chair of the Kidney Disease Modernisation Initiative funded by Guy's and St Thomas' Charity, who was recognised for service to kidney disease patients; and Professor Robert Lechler, Director of King’s Health Partners, who was awarded a Knights Bachelor for service to academic medicine., MBE, former chair of the Kidney Disease Modernisation Initiative funded by Guy's and St Thomas' Charity, who was recognised for service to kidney disease patients; and , Director of King’s Health Partners, who was awarded a Knights Bachelor for service to academic medicine.
King’s Health Partners is a pioneering collaboration between King’s College London, and Guy’s and St Thomas’, King’s College Hospital and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trusts.
