Charity Games evening
Essentia, the department in charge of our capital, estates, facilities and IT services, held a fun-filled evening in the marquee at St Thomas’ last week to raise money for charity as part of our 2012 Challenge.
Staff were divided into teams to take part in the ‘Games evening’ which involved creating London 2012 sculptures, Nintendo Wii competitions and making a medal out of a digestive! The winning team launched the nightly projections onto the Houses of Parliament.
Some of the 37 staff who danced in the London 2012 Games opening ceremony donned their outfits to sell raffle tickets for a ‘jam jar’ raffle. Another raffle gave staff the opportunity to win an iPad.
The evening raised nearly £1,000, and the 2 charities to benefit were picked out of a hat – Mencap Sutton and The Diamond Riding Centre in Carshalton.
