Spotlight on the district nursing team at Mawbey Brough Health Centre

A team of 20 district nurses based at the Mawbey Brough Health Centre in Vauxhall visit clients in their own homes providing a range of support including home care following surgery, diabetes management and wound treatment.

Covering parts of Camberwell, Wandsworth, Kennington, Vauxhall, Brixton and Stockwell, Patience Udo, senior district nurse and her team will often be the most important visitor for clients who are house bound.

“Patients receiving chemotherapy will need pick lines flushed, another client may need a gastric tube fitted as they are unable to swallow, those coming towards the end of their life will need pain relief administered. Our team are here to support patients’ needing care at home and we work closely with partners such as Marie Curie Cancer Care and Trinity Hospice to ensure that they receive the best treatment possible,” Patience says.
