How do I get an appointment?
AAA screening is offered to all men in the year they turn 65. You will automatically be invited by invitation letter.
Men over 65 can self refer into the programme by contacting us by phone or email.

At your appointment
Appointments last approximately 20 minutes. A technician will talk you through what to expect, the possible outcomes and check your personal details.
The technician will then conduct an ultrasound scan of your abdomen. The scan is quick and painless, and you will be told the result straight away.
If any further scans are needed or a referral to our vascular team is recommended you will be informed, and we will contact you by phone and letter with details of the next appointment.
Patients with normal results will be discharged from the service, and will not need to attend again.

A copy of the results will be sent to your GP.
