Diagnostic haemostasis laboratories
Both the Guy's and St Thomas' sites have routine laboratories providing screening tests using state of the art analysers. St Thomas' site operates a 24 hour a day laboratory, Guy's site operates within core hours (09:00 to 17:15 Monday to Friday). The Centre for Haemostasis and Thrombosis (The Haemophilia Reference Centre) operates an anticoagulant clinic in Guy's Outpatient's on a daily basis. St Thomas' Hospital also has a specialist assay laboratory where phenotypic investigations for thrombotic and bleeding disorders are performed.
Request forms
Please help us to help you by completing request forms (electronic or conventional physical forms) legibly with all the necessary information. It is essential that the patient details are clear and accurate and also that we have a clear indication of the destination for the report. It is vital that you indicate whether the patient is on any form of anticoagulation as this will affect result interpretation and in some cases the reference ranges.
Reference ranges for haemostasis investigations are periodically re-evaluated. Please contact Dr Gary Moore or Tina Whitham on 020 7188 2797 for current reference range information, or alternatively check the reference range stated on the patient report form.
Time limits for requesting additional examinations
Please contact the laboratory on 020 7188 2797 to discuss this matter.
