The NHS Staff Survey is carried out annually across England to capture staff views of their experience at work and of NHS services.
The most recent national staff survey was undertaken in autumn 2019 and completed by 6,897 Trust staff.
How are we doing?
The results of the 2019 NHS Staff Survey show that 88% of staff at Guy's and St Thomas' feel "satisfied with the standard of care provided by the organisation" and would recommend the Trust to their friends/relatives. This is well above the national average of 71% for combined acute and community hospital trusts in England.
The survey results show we achieved the best score for all combined acute and community trusts in 1 out of 11 themes. We were above average in 8 out of 11 themes, equal to the national average in one theme and below average in two themes. We have also seen improvements in 9 out of the 11 themes when compared to the 2018 NHS Staff Survey results.
In particular, we scored well for:
- staff recommending the Trust as a place to work – 78% compared to the national average of 64%
- staff engagement – we achieved the top score of 7.5 (on a scale of 0-10) compared to the national average of 7.1.
