During the past year, a number of grants have been made to Guy’s and St Thomas’. These include the annual Christmas gifts to the wards, chairs for a number of outpatient clinics and televisions to entertain patients while waiting for appointments.
Specialised treatment chairs have been purchased for the new infusion therapy centre, fish tanks have been maintained and a large contribution has been made to provide 'Giggle Doctors' to amuse the children in Evelina London Children’s Hospital. Reading machines have been supplied for the Knowledge and Information Centre at St Thomas’ Hospital to help those who are visually impaired to ‘read’ books.
We made a very large grant as an exception to the new Cancer Centre at Guy’s in 2016 to fund ‘The Living Room’, a wonderful peaceful and contemplative space where patients and carers can find a quiet moment during treatment and visits.
