The Trust is committed to continuously improving its clinical and non-clinical services.
As well as putting patients at the heart of everything we do, we work hard to ensure that staff at all levels have the skills and support needed to improve efficiency and effectiveness within their services. We place great importance on staff engagement as well as training and development.
Our flagship Fit for the Future programme has delivered £240 million in efficiency savings over the past five years and is the central programme driving service improvement across the Trust.
Other examples include the TOHETI programme, a large-scale project to transform how we manage and deliver imaging, which is supported by Guy's and St Thomas' Charity.
We are also expanding our automated inventory management systems. This will reduce the risk of waste and free up nursing time to support patient care. We are working with the University of Greenwich Business School to provide placements for students, studying supply chain management, to work on projects to improve processes within the hospital.
