Awards success for team leader Kylie

Congratulations to Kylie Gyertson, oncology clinical trials manager, who won the Team Leader award at the Pharmatimes Clinical Research of the Year awards.

Kylie won the award and a £500 cheque for her ability to lead and motivate her team.

Three teams from the Oncology and Haematology Clinical Trials group made it to the finals of the prestigious Clinical Research Site award. These were: Nick Gomm, Linda Shephard and Adam Taylor; Sharon Whelan, Lorna Bower and Blair McLennan; Ali Davies, Hiromi Uzu and Tom Spencer.

“I’m proud to win the award,” said Kylie. “And it was amazing to have so many teams in the final. No other NHS organisation has done this well before.”

Clinical trials are vital as they help us to find out which treatments are the most effective for patients. The teams’ everyday work consists of supporting patients through clinical trials and collecting data about new treatments.
