Gavin at the London marathon
Hospitality manager Gavin Tiffin is one step closer to achieving his incredible target of completing 4 marathons and a 300 mile cycle ride in just 4 weeks. He crossed the finishing line of the London marathon in just 3 hours and 37 minutes - a new personal best.
Gavin is doing this extraordinary challenge to raise money for specialist equipment that will help improve the lives of newborns at the Evelina Children's Hospital.
Gavin, who has already cycled from London to Paris and completed the Paris and Vienna marathons (3 hours and 52 minutes and 3 hours and 49 minutes respectively), is raising money for a tandem mass spectrometer. The hi-tech machine helps early detection of inherited diseases in newborns and children so that they can be appropriately treated and lead healthier lives.
He said: "Knowing that the money raised will help sick children at Evelina Children's Hospital have a chance of a better life is what drives me on. There's still plenty of kick left in these legs!"
Gavin runs the final leg of his magnificent journey - the Madrid marathon - on Sunday 28 April.
