Staff, patients and visitors across the Trust enjoyed cake-related fun as part of Macmillan’s ‘world’s biggest coffee morning’ last Friday (27 Sept).

Staff nurse Betty Davis, with Barbara Hallett and Christine Porter – both volunteers and retired staff, organised a cake and bric-a-brac stand in the Bird Corridor at St Thomas’.

They were joined by the Mayor of Southwark, Cllr Abdul Mohamed, and Sue Gooderhan from Macmillian, and raised more than £300.

This was the twentieth coffee morning for Macmillan that Betty has been involved with.

On the 9th Floor of North Wing (St Thomas’), Housekeeping Assistants baked cakes and ran a ‘guess the number of coffee beans’ sweepstake, to raise £148.

Margaret Hemans had already raised £911 in August with a sponsored walk, bringing the total raised for Macmillan by housekeeping team at St Thomas’ to more than £1,000 so far this year.

Midwives Anna Gaudion and Rebecca Balcombe ran a cake sale in maternity that raised more than £500.
