Bright Start Week

Evelina London is inviting parents to come and find out more about their children’s health by taking part in Bright Start Week (Monday 17- Friday 21 November).

Bright Start Week is a series of events in Lambeth and Southwark to help parents ensure their child gets the healthiest start to life. Parents will be able to find out about the importance of healthy living and emotional well-being by speaking to health visitors, midwives and other child health professionals.

The events are taking place from 11am-2pm every day next week at Lister Health Centre in Peckham, Gracefield Gardens Health Centre in Streatham, and Evelina London Children’s Hospital in Lambeth.

Parents can drop in to meet health visitors, school nurses, midwives, speech and language specialists, physiotherapists, children’s dental experts and many more staff.

All week 11am-2pm:

  • meet health visitors and school nurses to learn more about child safety, preventing accidents and childhood immunisations

  • breastfeeding co-ordinators will be on hand to give advice on breastfeeding and breastfeeding community spaces.

Monday 17 and Thursday 20 November 11am-2pm:

  • meet the dental team and find out about dental hygiene, how to prevent child tooth decay, and the truth about sugary drinks and food.

Wednesday 19 and Thursday 20 November 11am-2pm:

  • find out about your child’s physical development and speech from our physiotherapists and speech and language therapists.

Friday 21 November 10.30am-12.45pm: Aylesbury Health Centre
