A short film about Guy’s and St Thomas’ energy-saving power generators has been published on YouTube.
The combined heat and power (CHP) engines were installed in 2009 by GE Power & Water, and save £2 million a year in energy costs.
The US-company made the film to highlight the difference the engines have made.
The money saved has been reinvested into the Trust, benefiting patients. The Sterile Services Department has been expanded and upgraded as it now uses steam and heat generated by the CHP engines.
