Council of Governors elections – list of candidates published

The list of candidates who have nominated themselves to stand for election to the Council of Governors in May’s elections has now been published. 

As a Foundation Trust, we are accountable to our local community through our members and the Council of Governors. Most of our governors are elected by our Foundation Trust members.

Members are divided into constituencies. Elections are being held for seats in the following constituencies in May:

• Five seats in the patients constituency
• Five seats in the public constituency
• Four seats in the staff constituency – three clinical and one non-clinical.

A total of 35 members have nominated themselves to stand for election: 8 in the patients constituency, sixteen in the public constituency and eleven in the staff constituency – nine clinical and two non-clinical. The deadline for nominations was Tuesday 21 April.

If you are a Foundation Trust member, you can have your say on the future of your hospital when ballot papers are posted out on Wednesday 13 May.

Completed ballot papers must be received by the Returning Officer either online or by post before voting closes on Friday 5 June. Election results will be published on Monday 8 June.
