Guy’s and St Thomas’ has won the Stonewall Health Sector Top Employers Award for being the joint most improved organisation in London.
The Trust has improved by 117 places for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) equality in the Stonewall 2015 workplace index, ranking 111th out of 397 organisations.
Eric Pirozzoli, Associate Director of HR and joint-chair of the Trust’s LGBT Staff Forum, says: “We are really proud of our result and award. It was amazing to get the recognition of the hard work being done across the Trust to support LGBT staff and the wider community. We hope to do even better next year.”
Jayne King, Head of Security and joint-chair of the LGBT Forum, was named as an LGBT Leader by Health Service Journal magazine in September 2014.
The LGBT Staff Forum has arranged a number of events to celebrate LGBT History Month this February:
- the main event will take place from 11am-2pm on Thursday 26 February in Central Hall at St Thomas’ Hospital
- there will also be an LGBT stand at Guy’s Hospital main reception on Wednesday 11 February from 12 noon-2pm.
