Guy’s and St Thomas’ has been named as one of the best places to work in the NHS.
Health Service Journal and Nursing Times magazines, in association with NHS Employers, compiled the list of the top 120 organisations.
They highlight the importance of great staff engagement and creating an environment in which people can enjoy their work, in order to provide the best possible care for patients.
Danny Mortimer, Chief Executive of NHS Employers, says: “Effective engagement of staff makes a profound difference to the experience, safety and outcomes of patients. A longstanding commitment to healthy workplaces characterises many of the NHS organisations featured in this list.”
Guy’s and St Thomas’ recently launched its ‘Showing we care about you’ programme to highlight the wide range of benefits and health and well-being initiatives that are available to staff.
New services include an Employee Assistance Programme - offering confidential information and support to manage life’s everyday challenges - a Credit Union, and a Dietitian at Work service which provides staff with dietary advice and a dedicated weight management service, either on a one-to-one basis or as part of a group.
