Proud members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) forum at Guy’s and St Thomas’ are gearing up to take part in Pride for the first time on Saturday (27 June).

More than 40 members of the forum, who work in all areas across the Trust, will march through the streets of London to celebrate the equality and diversity of our workforce and promote our inclusive services.

In February, Guy’s and St Thomas’ won the Stonewall Health Sector Top Employers Award for being the joint most improved organisation in London, and was voted as the most inclusive organisation in London and fifth most inclusive in England in the Stonewall Health Equality Index.

Eric Pirozzoli, Associate Director of Human Resources and co-chair of the LGBT forum, says: “We’re so excited to represent the Trust in London’s Pride march – one of the biggest and most famous celebrations in the world.

“We’re keen to share our values and do more to get involved and tell people about the services which the Trust offers to LGBT people.”

Jayne King, Head of Security and also co-chair of the LGBT forum, says: “If you can be your whole self at work then you make a better employee. I’m proud to work in an open-minded and diverse Trust with people of all backgrounds, cultures, nationalities and religions, and sexuality.”

The Assisted Conception Unit at Guy’s Hospital will also be at London’s Pride celebrations to promote their unique service. The unit helps dozes of same sex couples every year to become parents to healthy babies.

Members of the LGBT forum will also be sharing information about the After 5 clinic – an LGBT sexual health clinic that runs weekly at Guy’s Hospital.

Members of the LGBT forum will be meeting at St Thomas’ Hospital on Saturday before joining the parade together. If you’d like to march with them or would like more information please email: [email protected]
