Monitor has today announced that Guy’s and St Thomas’ will undertake an 18 month collaboration with Medway NHS Foundation Trust as part of the ‘buddying’ system that allows successful NHS Trusts to support other NHS organisations.
Medway has already received support from University Hospitals Birmingham, and this longer term collaboration is designed to help the executive team at Medway to deliver its 18 month recovery plan. It will assist local managers to implement and embed improvements that will strengthen clinical leadership and effectiveness, and ultimately improve quality of care for patients.
We at Guy’s and St Thomas’ have a positive reputation for developing and sharing best practice - and we are very conscious of our responsibility to use that expertise for the benefit of both our own patients and the wider NHS.
We are pleased that we are able to assist other organisations while remaining focussed on our own ambitious and demanding business agenda here at Guy’s and St Thomas’.
