Trust gets the thumbs up from staff

92% of staff at Guy’s and St Thomas’ would recommend the Trust to friends and family in need of care or treatment – much higher than the national average of 79%.

76% of Guy’s and St Thomas’ staff would recommend the Trust as a place to work – much higher than the national average of 62%.

In addition, 92% of staff feel able to speak up if they have a concern about patient safety or their working environment.

The national Staff Friends and Family Test results were published today, Thursday 26 November, and report the views of thousands of NHS employees in England.

A total of 1,474 Guy’s and St Thomas’ staff took part in the last test, which was carried out in August and September this year.

Ann Macintyre, Director of Workforce at Guy’s and St Thomas’, says: “I am pleased to see that our staff continue to have positive views about the care provided by the Trust and that the majority of staff would recommend the Trust as a place to work.

“For the first time, we also asked staff about whether they would feel able to speak up about any concerns they have and I am delighted that 92% of staff said they would feel able to do this.

“Thank you to all our staff who took the time to complete the last test – it provides important insights about how staff are feeling and what we need to improve to deliver even better care for patients.”
