Lambethn North station closure

The temporary closure of Lambeth North tube station (PDF 648Kb) may affect patients, staff and visitors travelling to St Thomas’ Hospital from this Wednesday (13 July) until mid-February 2017.

The closure of the station is due to essential lift replacement works being carried out by Transport for London.

Patients, staff and visitors who use the Bakerloo line to travel to St Thomas’ should use the neighbouring Waterloo and Elephant & Castle stations while Lambeth North is closed.

Mark Wild, Managing Director of London Underground, says: “I’m sorry for the disruption that the lift work will cause our customers, but the new lifts will be more reliable with fewer delays when the work is complete.

“Closing the station is the quickest and most efficient way to replace the lifts – the decision has not been taken lightly and we will work hard to complete this vital upgrade as quickly as possible, keeping customers and local businesses up to date as the work progresses.”
