Nominations are open for awards which recognise the exceptional work of staff at Guy’s and St Thomas’, both in our hospitals and the community.

The Trust Awards aim to reward individuals and teams who have gone above and beyond the line of duty to care for patients and include a new People’s award to be chosen by our patients and local people.

Amanda Pritchard, Chief Executive of Guy’s and St Thomas’, says: “Acts of kindness happen every day in our hospitals and across the community and we want to shine a light on that.

“In the last year we have seen staff perform a variety of remarkable feats including rescuing a patient from a roof, delivering a baby in a waiting room and helping a heart patient get married.

“But nominees don’t have to have performed something amazing – they might be someone who has worked hard to improve services or shown incredible dedication.

“These awards are a great opportunity to celebrate our colleagues for their hard work and dedication. That’s why we want both patients and staff to nominate their heroes, whether that’s an individual or a team.”

If you would like to nominate an individual or team for the People’s award please complete an online form or pick up a nomination form from the Patient Advice and Liaison Service or Knowledge and Information Centre at our hospitals.

The nominations open on Monday 12 September and close on Friday 30 September. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on Friday 18 November.
