The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visiting Evelina London Children's Hospital

Warmest congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the birth of their third child.

We are absolutely delighted that, following their recent visits, Their Royal Highnesses have named Evelina London Children’s Hospital as their chosen charity for anyone wishing to make a donation to mark the birth.

Amanda Pritchard, Chief Executive of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust says:  “On behalf of everyone at Guy’s and St Thomas’, I would like to congratulate The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the arrival of their new baby, and to thank them for naming Evelina London as their chosen charity. Through personal experience of the life-saving care provided to children at Evelina London, I know how our inspirational staff go the extra mile every single day to deliver the best treatment and most compassionate care possible.”

This year, we have been exceptionally proud to welcome The Duchess to Snow Leopard Ward and The Duke to Beach Ward to meet Evelina London’s staff, patients and families. The Duchess also opened Ronald McDonald House Evelina London last year.

On each occasion, The Duke and Duchess have been moved and impressed by the care and compassion provided to children, young people and their families.

Marian Ridley, Director of Evelina London says: “It has been an honour to welcome The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to Evelina London three times in the past 15 months. Their warmth and immediate sense of connection with the children and families that they met left a deep impression on all of us. Their visits brought joy, sympathy and appreciation and I know this gesture will mean a huge amount to our staff, patients and families. We are very grateful for their support, and wish their family a happy and healthy future together.”

As we prepare to celebrate Evelina London’s 150th birthday, we would like to thank Their Royal Highnesses for their generous gesture and all those who make a donation.

All donations will go towards improving care for sick children - from life-saving research and the latest medical equipment, to innovative community services and the little things that help make a stay in hospital less scary for young people.

Make a donation.
