Trust appoints new Chief Financial Officer

Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to announce that Steven Davies has been appointed as its new Chief Financial Officer.

Steven will succeed Martin Shaw, who will retire on 1st January 2022, following 38 years working in the Trust and predecessor organisations and 40 years in the NHS.

Steven has over 20 years’ experience in the NHS having first joined the service via the national finance graduate scheme. He has worked for a variety of NHS organisations in and around London.

Before joining Guy’s and St Thomas’, he worked at Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust for a number of years, becoming Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Chief Executive.

Steven joined Guy’s and St Thomas’ in 2018 as Finance Director, during which time he has led the finance department, financial management for the Trust and also delivered a number of key developments. He has extensive experience of NHS revenue and capital, major projects, change management, contracts, partnerships and commercial activities.

Steven’s breadth and depth of experience across the NHS will ensure strong financial leadership of our organisation.

This has delivered the financial stability for which the Trust is rightly known and has allowed us to pursue key strategic ambitions for the benefit of our patients, including the successful delivery of the Evelina London Children’s Hospital and the Guy’s Cancer Centre.”
