A two-day exhibition showcasing the work of a project that has tested the role of fashion as a vehicle for positive well-being and self-management in patients with musculoskeletal conditions (MSK).
Garment+ has investigated how fashion can improve a patient’s quality of life by formulating new clothing designs that accommodate the functional needs of patients with long-term MSK conditions while also being attractive.
Working with fashion designer Alexa Chan and senior lecturer Dr Heidi Lempp, a group of patients have co-designed a series of new items, which will be on public display in Guy's Hospital. The project team welcome the feedback of patients, relatives, visitors, and the general public.
Garment+ is a collaboration between King's College London's Department of Academic Rheumatology and designer Alexa Chan, brokered and supported by the Cultural Institute at King’s College London.
