Surgeon Ben Challacombe uses the Da Vinci robot in theatreThe surgery team at Guy’s and St Thomas’ would like to better understand the experiences of patients who use their services. Staff would like to hear about your experiences of care, from arrival on the day of your operation through to going home from hospital and completion of your treatment.

Your views are important and will help us to improve our services.

During the session we would like to learn more about your experiences of:

  • arranging the date for your operation/procedure
  • your pre-operative assessment and tests
  • admission on the day of surgery
  • experience of day surgery
  • your recovery in hospital
  • planning for going home from hospital
  • your post-operative experience and recovery


From Waterloo mainline station
The Education Centre is located just two minutes walk from Waterloo station. Turn left as you come out of Waterloo Station, onto York Road/Southbank. Follow York Road for 250 yards until you reach the Education Centre on your left.

From Westminster tube station
The Education Centre is located just five minutes walk from Westminster station. Walk across Westminster Bridge and continue past St Thomas’ Hospital. At the end of the road (at the Park Plaza Hotel), turn left and walk along York Road until you reach. The Education Centre is on your right hand side.


All reasonable expenses will be reimbursed on the evening upon production of receipts.
