Our cardiac specialist nurses, pharmacist and cardiac physiologist will be joining forces next week to raise awareness of Atrial Fibrillation. Staff, visitors and patients are invited to come along to Central Hall at St Thomas' to have their pulse checked on Tuesday 21 November, 9.30am-1pm.
Atrial Fibrillation is a condition that affects the electrical function of the heart and can result in an irregular heartbeat. People could have this condition but may not be aware as they may not have any symptoms. Unfortunately there is a risk of stroke associated with this condition which could have debilitating effects on an individual.
