Our occupational therapy team will be celebrating their very own occupational therapy week from Tuesday 19 to Friday 22 February.
The role of an occupational therapist is incredibly varied and is all about supporting your recovery after you’ve been unwell. We assess your needs and work with you, and the people who care for you, to find solutions so that you can get back to everyday life as quickly and safely as possible.
To raise everyone’s understanding of occupational therapy, the role it plays and the value it brings to the NHS, the occupational therapy team will be hosting a series of events at Guy’s and St Thomas' where you can look forward to the following:
- trying on our simulation suit – get an understanding of what it might feel like to have a certain condition or impairment and try completing everyday tasks
- meeting members of the team – we will answer any questions you may have and tell you a bit more about our role and how we can support you
- help grow our feedback tree – tell us what recovery and occupational therapy means to you and what you think we can do to improve the care we provide.
Everyone is welcome.
We will also be in Central Hall at St Thomas' Hospital on Wednesday 20, Thursday 21 and Friday 22 February, 11am-3pm.
