Frances Lawlor

Consultant dermatologist

Biography

Frances Lawlor qualified at University College Dublin. After becoming a member of the College of Physicians of Ireland, she moved to the UK to train in dermatology.

Frances held an honorary senior lecturer post with UMDS when first appointed as a consultant. Her first consultant post was at the Newham University Hospital Trust, her second was at the Royal London Hospital for four years.

She works in urticaria in the cutaneous allergy department on a honorary basis.

Education and training

Frances held dermatology training posts in Sunderland and Coventry.

Following accreditation in dermatology she worked as a research fellow in the urticaria unit obtaining her MD on the topic of the physical urticarias.

She has worked at St Thomas' Hospital in urticaria, and teaches postgraduates part time on an honorary basis since obtaining her first consultant post.

  • Urticaria; inducible urticaria.

  • Gold Teaching Award American Academy of Dermatology.
