Kate Langford


Medical director healthcare alliance


Kate qualified from Cambridge in 1989. Her postgraduate medical training included three years as an MRC Training Fellow whilst completing an MD for which she was awarded the Langdon Down Medal by the University of Cambridge.

Kate joined GSTFT in 2001 as a subspecialty consultant in maternal fetal medicine and was clinical director for Women’s Services from 2011-2014. She was appointed deputy medical director in 2011 and was responsible for introducing electronic job planning to the Trust. She was responsible for the successful roll out of medical revalidation at the Trust and was responsible officer until October 2018.

Kate is the medical director for the GSTFT Healthcare Alliance in our partnership with Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust. She also holds a number of external advisory roles including being a member of the Safety Insights Group for the national Maternity Transformation Programme and a member of the London Maternity Transformation Board.
