  • Biography

    Nicholas qualified from the University of Birmingham Medical School in 1991 and trained in infectious diseases and general (internal) medicine in London. He was awarded with a MRC Clinical Training Fellowship in 1997 to undertake a PhD research project at Imperial College School of Medicine (formerly the Royal Postgraduate Medical School).

    Nicholas became a consultant at Guy's and St Thomas' in 2005 and was appointed as director of infection and director of infection prevention and control in 2009. He has led the national High Consequence Infectious Diseases (Airborne) Network since 2018. Other specialist clinical interests include tuberculosis and vascular graft infection.
