Area of expertise: chest/lung (thoracic) and breast cancers
Dr Paul Cane is a member of the lung cancer Clinical Reference Group for NHS England and was a member of the NICE Guideline Development Group responsible for the current national guidelines for the diagnosis and management of lung cancer.
He was the project lead for the LungPath project, a national audit examining the quality of pathological diagnosis of lung cancer in England.
His major interests are in improving the quality of the pathological diagnosis of lung cancer and optimising the use of tissue to support targeted therapies.
He is pathology advisor to CRUK's Stratified Medicine Programme.
