About the low vision clinic

The low vision clinic at St Thomas' Hospital is for people with poor eyesight. We aim to help you make the most of your vision.

The clinic provides a bridge between the hospital, social services and charities that support visually impaired people.

What we do

We can:

  • offer sight tests
  • recommend suitable magnifiers and aids to vision
  • provide you with advice from our eye clinic liaison officer, who can refer you to other services if necessary
  • offer a taster of some of the high tech low vision aids and gadgetry available.

We also run the 'Wednesday Club' with sessions to help visually impaired people come to terms with their disability and find ways to improve their living and working lives.

We proud of the extensive service our low vision clinic provides, thanks to over 20 years of support from hospital staff and dedicated volunteers.
