ViapathWhat is pathology?
Pathology is the study of disease. Often working behind the scenes, pathologists work with doctors and clinicians to diagnose, treat and prevent illness.
It's estimated that 70-80% of diagnoses made in the NHS are based on the results of a pathology investigation.
Pathology services are critical to effective patient care. With around 800 million diagnostic tests carried out each year in the UK, that’s more than 14 tests for every man, woman and child in the country.
