This guide gives an overview of how we're performing against national targets in key areas relating to patient care and experience.

The percentage of patients attending A&E waiting less than four hours to be diagnosed, treated, discharged or admitted.

The percentage of patients who have been referred to us and may have had an initial appointment, but are still waiting for a decision to be made on their treatment/discharge.

The percentage of patients who start their cancer treatment within 62 days from referral. This includes the time taken to confirm a diagnosis and to agree a treatment plan.
Some patients will be referred to their local hospital and then to Guy's and St Thomas' for a more specialist opinion. Where patients are referred to us late in their pathway, this target can be difficult to achieve.

We have a consistently low rate of C.difficile infection in our hospitals.

We have worked very hard to reduce the number of preventable MRSA blood infections, and all cases that do occur are thoroughly investigated so we can improve our care where necessary.

The Friends and Family Test is a national scheme enabling patients to tell us and other patients what they think about the care they receive.
Patients are asked: 'How likely are you to recommend our hospital to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'.
