King's Health Partners summer internships 2015

We offer unpaid work experience June - August 2015 for placements of four to six weeks for around 40 students across the King's Health Partners hospitals where the successful intern will spend their time in one of the hospitals throughout their internship.

Kings Health Partners includes the following hospitals:

  • Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust
  • Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust – (Denmark Hill and Princess Royal, Bromley)
  • South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust
  • Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust.

Dates for 2015 are:

  • Monday 1 June to Friday 21 August.

Deadline for applications is Friday 27 February 2015.

About the scheme

These voluntary placements are only open to UK pharmacy undergraduates (i.e. students currently studying for an MPharm, or equivalent, degree programme).

Each summer intern will be assigned to a tutor who will be responsible for their student(s) programme. We do not offer guaranteed access to each different area of pharmacy. Instead, interns will gain in-depth insight into their tutor’s specialist area(s). The main focus of the internship is project work set by the tutor.

The summer work experience is a separate process to pre-registration training and being unsuccessful for summer work experience has no influence over pre-registration training recruitment.

Applying for a placement

Applications are considered on merit and there will not be any interviews or tests.

We only accept pharmacy summer internship application forms| (Word 86Kb). We will not consider blank or part-filled applications with a CV attached.

You will need to clearly state which month you will be available for your summer placement experience and why you should be given this opportunity.

As we receive a large number of applications, we are unable to contact everyone individually. If you do not receive a reply from us within four weeks, please assume that you have been unsuccessful.

Sending your application

Applications should be emailed to aamer.safdar@nhs.net|.
