Cancer Centre film 'premiere' at Annual Public Meeting

Tuesday 13 September 2016

Everyone is welcome at our Annual Public Meeting on Thursday 15 September.

A new film featuring patients and staff talking about the new Cancer Centre at Guy’s will be shown for the first time at this year’s Guy’s and St Thomas’ Annual Public Meeting – held  at 6pm this Thursday (15 September) in Shepherd Hall at St Thomas’ Hospital.

There will be refreshments and information stands in Central Hall from 5.30pm.

Changing Cancer Care will be introduced by Diana Crawshaw, Chair of the Patient Reference Group which has played a key role in the development of the new Cancer Centre, as well as Project Director Alastair Gourlay and Mairead Griffin, Director of Nursing, Cancer.

The new Cancer Centre at Guy’s is due to open its doors for the first outpatient appointments from Monday 26 September – the first treatment will be provided from Monday 3 October when chemotherapy starts.

Our Annual Public Meeting will include a presentation about the strength and balance classes which are run by our Community Rehabilitation and Falls Service.

And there will be a chance to hear the inspiring stories of Guy’s and St Thomas’ staff who have benefited from our award-winning apprenticeship programmes.

There will also be a chance for you to have your say in an open question and answer session with the Trust Board.

Everyone is welcome, no need to book a place in advance.
