Rapid access one stop heart failure clinic

Lead clinician: Dr Gerry Carr-White (consultant cardiologist)

This is a one stop heart failure clinic for newly suspected or decompensating patients with heart failure.

Investigations including echocardiography, ECGs, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, blood tests, xrays and spirometry will be done during the clinic visit. We try to see patients within 2 weeks of referral.

Nurse-led heart failure clinic

This is a nurse-led clinic for patients already diagnosed with heart failure, providing close monitoring and follow-up, medication up-titration, assessment of educational needs and self management strategies.

Elderly care heart failure clinic

  • Tootie Bueser - British Heart Foundation cardiac genetic nurse

This is a specialist clinic for elderly patients with heart failure and significant co-morbidities. The clinic has close links with all the elderly care services.

Congenital cardiomyopathy clinic

Lead clinician: Dr Gerry Carr-White - consultant cardiologist

This is clinic runs alongside a cardiac geneticist and specialises in patients with congenital (present at birth) heart muscle problems such as hypertrophic or dilated cardiomyopathy.
