Graduated Belfast university 1986.

Cardiothoracic training Belfast 1990 - 1995, at the Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne with Dr T Karl 1996 and the Chef De Service Hopital Broussais Paris with Prof. A Carpentier 1997.

Appointed Consultant at Guy's and St Thomas' in November 1997.

Mr Austin performs a full complement of paediatric neonatal infant and adult congenital surgical cases.
