Biography
Andrew Davies is a consultant upper gastrointestinal (GI)surgeon at St Thomas’ and an honorary senior lecturer at King’s College London.
He has a particular interest in minimally invasive (laparoscopic) surgery for oesophago-gastric cancer, hiatus hernia, gallstones and abdominal hernia repair. Mr Davies leads the Oesophago-gastric research programme at St Thomas' in close collaboration with the division of cancer studies at KCL. The unit contributes to numerous prestigious international data collaborations.

Education and training
An Edinburgh graduate, including a 1st class honours BSc, Andrew trained in a number of London’s teaching hospitals including King’s College London (KCL) , St Thomas’ and the Royal Marsden hospitals.
He obtained a Masters degree with distinction before completing an MD on the staging and management of oesophageal cancer at KCL. He is an affiliated researcher with the Karolinska Institute in Sweden.
