Biography
Dr Bridget Wilkins is a consultant histopathologist at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. She is also:
- National Cancer Research Institute Pathology lead for NHS engagement in biobanking
- chair of the cellular and molecular pathology network group
- honorary senior lecturer at King's College, London, UK.

Specialist interests
Bridget seeks patients’ consent routinely for research using their tissue, and to make more active use of diagnostic pathology archives as biobanks.

Research interests
Bridget is the pathology lead to champion biobanking for research. She was instrumental in setting up an Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre (ECMC) networking group of pathologists, to increase the recognition and maximise the scope of pathology contributions to the ECMCs’ programmes of translational research.
