How to get an appointment

We take referrals from GPs, hospital consultants and other healthcare professionals.

Before your appointment

Your appointment could be:

Appointments take place in different parts of our hospitals and community sites. Visit our locations page for more information about each of our hospitals.

Your appointment letter will tell you:

  • the type of appointment
  • the location of your appointment
  • the name of the dietitian you are going to see
  • how to join your appointment if it is a video call
  • what you need to bring

During your appointment

Your appointment will be with a dietitian. Our dietitians are registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Your appointment might be with a trainee dietitian. They will tell you who they are. An experienced dietitian supervises our trainees.

How long your appointment takes depends on why we are seeing you.

After your appointment

We will send a letter and treatment plan to you and your GP.

We may also give you more information to help with nutrition and treat any related health problems.

We will arrange a follow-up appointment if needed.

You can contact your dietitian with any questions. If you do not have their contact information, please contact us.
