Early arthritis clinic

The early arthritis clinic aims to quickly assess, and if appropriate, start treatment for patients with suspected inflammatory arthritis (IA).

Early Pregnancy and Gynaecology Unit

Description:
This is a nurse-led, specialist unit for women who need emergency care for GP referral of an acute gynaecological problem or self referral of women having a problem in early pregnancy such as pain, bleeding or severe vomiting.

Emergency contraception

Description:

Emergency department (A&E)

Description:
We treat patients who have suffered a recent injury or accident or who have developed a sudden illness. All A&E departments use a priority system where the most seriously ill patients are seen first.

End of life care

Description:
The palliative care team gives specialist information to people facing serious illness. We recognise that emotional, spiritual, family and financial worries can be just as important as physical problems.

Endocrinology and diabetes

Description:
Diabetes mellitus is a condition in which the amount of glucose (sugar) in the blood is too high because the body cannot use it properly.

Our children's ear, nose and throat (ENT) service is one of the largest and most specialised in the UK seeing children with complex medical conditions and who need long-term support.

Epidermolysis bullosa (EB)

Description:
Our epidermolysis bullosa (EB) service provides diagnosis and clinical care of adults with EB, a rare inherited skin disorder which causes the skin of affected people to be excessively fragile and blister at the slightest knock or rub.

Epilepsies

Description:
Clinical neurophysiology is a medical speciality that studies the central and peripheral nervous systems. The epilepsies, often referred to as epilepsy, are a family of disorders characterised by the occurrence of spontaneous, unpredictable seizures or sometime called a fit.

Erectile dysfunction, Impotence

Description:
The clinic aims to help male cardiac (heart) patients who are experiencing sexual problems. This affects a large proportion of cardiac patients, usually as erectile dysfunction, which is where there are problems achieving or mantaining an erection.

Evelina London Children's Hospital

Description:
Children's services are mainly located in Evelina London Children's Hospital - a purpose built hospital alongside St Thomas' Hospital. It was London's first new children's hospital for more than 100 years and with everything from the menus to the design of the building itself chosen by children, it's something truly special.
