How you can access the service
Our service is open to all of our patients, their relatives/carers and our staff. Please ask your nurse to contact us, phone us on 020 7188 5588 or email us on chaplains@gstt.nhs.uk.
Please see our Easy Read guide about the spiritual healthcare work of our chaplaincy team (PDF 3Mb).
If you need to access the service urgently, please call the hospital switchboard on 020 7188 7188 and ask to aircall the duty chaplain. There is always a team leader on call for specific advice.
If you're frightened or worried about your hospital stay, we are here to listen. We support people of all faiths, as well as people who do not have a particular religious belief, but would like someone to talk to. For more information email chaplains@gstt.nhs.uk.
What we provide
We have a chapel and multi-faith prayer rooms at both hospitals for quiet prayer and reflection - see their locations below. They may be used by our patients, their relatives/carers and our staff. If you wish to use a prayer room for a religious or pastoral reason, such as Shabbat, please contact us.
Please let us know if you want any spiritual care resources, such as a bible, rosary, prayer mat, prayer cards or holy books.
If you are staying on one of our wards, a chaplain can bring Communion to you, or pray with you, annoint you, or listen to your concerns. Please contact the team, or ask your nurse to arrange a visit.
You might find it helpful to register your faith/belief when you arrive at hospital. This can be done at the same time you give your contact details.
