We can provide communication and language support to our patients and relatives.

If English isn't your first language and you prefer your medical appointment explained in a language you a more comfortable with, we can arrange for a professional interpreter to be present.

To book an interpreter we will need the following information from you:

  • your appointment details - where and when it is
  • information on the support/language you need
  • as much notice as possible.

We provide British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters and video interpreting via Sign Translate.

We provide telephone interpreting anytime, anywhere in the hospital and provide translations of our printed information leaflets when required in Braille, large print and easy read.
