Community dermatology, Lambeth and Southwark

Referrals

We only accept referrals from GPs in Lambeth and Southwark.

GP referrals

All NHS GP referrals must be submitted using the NHS e-Referral Service (e-RS). Referrals sent by email or post from NHS GPs will not be processed.

Complete the south east London community dermatology referral form and send it to us on e-RS. Please also attach up to 3 photos showing the site, a close up and dermoscopy if available of the skin problem.

Please remember to choose the location, community and hospital your patient would like to be seen at. We'll always do our best to choose a location that is close to your patient's home.

After we receive a referral

We may:

  • accept the referral and see your patient within 8 weeks
  • send the referral back to you with advice and guidance if we think your patient's condition can be managed in primary care
  • refer your patient to their preferred hospital if their condition is urgent or too complex
  • direct your referral to a teledermatology service for assessment of skin lesions

We'll return your referral if it does not comply with the south east London treatment access policy (TAP).

2-week wait (2WW) and emergency referrals

We do not see patients needing 2-week-wait (2WW) assessment, please refer on the 2WW pathway.

We do not see patients who need secondary care assessment within 72 hours or accept emergency referrals. Please bleep the on-call dermatology specialist registrar (SpR) via our switchboard 020 7188 7188 or at King's College Hospital 020 3299 1998.
