Evelina London staff honoured at Royal Garden Party
Friday 22 May 2026
Three members of staff from Evelina London were invited to attend a Royal Garden Party on 12 May to recognise their exceptional dedication and contribution to patient care.
The annual garden parties, hosted by members of the Royal Family, celebrate and reward public service across the UK. Evelina London colleagues Sarah Munnelly, Edmund Mensah Boateng and Nanna Christiansen were nominated by senior leadership at Evelina London to attend this year’s festivities.
Sarah Munnelly, a speech and language therapy assistant, was recognised for her unwavering commitment to patients, families and colleagues; making a tangible difference every day.
Her colleagues recognised her for always embodying the Trust values of being caring, ambitious and inclusive, and always acting with warmth and integrity.
Sarah said about the party: "I had a fantastic time at the garden party and all the staff there were so friendly. We even got lucky with the weather!
"I was nominated because of the wonderful team I work with, so I only thought it right that I take my friend and colleague, Lesley Baker, to enjoy the day with me."
Edmund Mensah Boateng, a ward clerk for the gynaecology team, was nominated for his contribution to patient experience.
As part of his varied role, Edmund provides vital administrative support to the nursing team and welcomes patients and visitors to the ward with kindness and compassion. He proactively engaged with projects to improve the gynaecology service, and has now been appointed as a patient pathway coordinator in gynaecology, supporting the Women and Girl's Health Hub and leading on the administration pathways to support local women in south east London receiving treatment.
Nanna Christiansen, the chief children's pharmacist, was honoured for her leadership of our busy and complex children's pharmacy service.
Under her leadership, the pharmacy team delivers a high-quality service that supports safe and effective patient care across our services. She is currently leading the team through an ambitious project to install a new robot within the children’s hospital which will allow the pharmacy team to dispense medication with greater speed and free up team members to provide direct support to families.
Gubby Ayida, chief executive of Evelina London said: "I am thrilled that Sarah, Edmund and Nanna have been celebrated at the Royal Garden Party this year.
"Their achievements highlight the extraordinary efforts of teams working across clinical and non-clinical roles to provide outstanding care for children, young people and families every single day. Congratulations to all three colleagues on this well-deserved honour.
"We are so grateful for the generosity of our Patron, Her Royal Highness the Princess of Wales, in offering opportunities like these and giving us the opportunity to celebrate the everyday excellence of our teams."
